BEST VALUE - ZERO SACRIFICE OF QUALITY! Dreaming of harp music? Wedding Bills growing, but Wedding Budget shrinking? Dr. Ted Nichelson's price beat every harpist contacted. AND...the sound quality was superb! His musicianship & professionalism ...everything he claims ... he delivers! From start to finish, a great experience. His website music planner is easy to use, and provides many music samples. The money transaction was simple and straightforward. Even though he was required to go through a security gate, he was on time, prepared, and ready at the downbeat. He was dressed very elegantly, and possesses a calm demeanor, which sets a nice tone around the wedding party. He was pleasant to my family and guests, and one of my daughters was excited to learn that he had filmed on one of her favorite TV shows. And yes, he does play "Somewhere in Time" beautifully. We had selected several pieces of music for the prelude, and midway through the prelude, the Best Man realized he had left the wedding rings in another city. A whisper in Ted's ear, a nod from him, and he continued with an Extended, and refined repertoire. As the wedding party scrambled to retrieve the wedding rings, my guests enjoyed the longest and loveliest prelude ever... completely unaware of the glitch. Many of my guests were musicians and complimented me on the harpist. And, I had many, many comments about what a beautiful wedding it was, and how lovely everything was, and how sweet the couple looked. The focus remained on the bride and groom. Ted was so gracious after the wedding - said it was absolutely no problem, and would not even consider raising the agreed upon price. Ted's performance as the harpist for our daughter's wedding reception on 7.26.08 was amazing!! He thoroughly entertained all our guests during the cocktail hour and dinner as well. Ted Nichelson and his harp provided a beautiful atmosphere at our wedding in a mansion. Our guests were amazed by his ability to create such an elegant mood. One song in particular was extremely complex, and Ted played it with great expertise. Ted was always willing to help. He was instrumental in helping us plan the order of our wedding. He provided music recommendations that fit with the flow of our ceremony and provided samples of music if we were not familiar with his recommendations. Ted added elegance to the private dinner party I held for my family. My mother who is older in age usually does not like any background music. She called and said that the music was enchanting. Dr. Ted Nichelson truly contributed to the success of our wedding. Our ceremony room wasn't big enough to hold a string quartet, so we decided to look for a harpist to play for our wedding. Like most people, we first went by word of mouth, then got on the internet to look for vendors. Finally, we came across www.yourharpist.com. I can only imagine the surprise and delight of the casual visitor to the Botanic Gardens in Claremont. They would have first heard what they thought was a harmonic of nature, then realized it was a melody as the structure of the notes became apparent. The light filtering through the trees, the guests and wedding party in the various roles of Renaissance daily life from regal to peasant, all blended for an audio-visual experience that approximated time travel. You, resplendent in your white renaissance shirt, creating the melodies dear to our heart helped to create the scene. The layer of sound that emanated from your harp, tickled the conversations, wafted up through the leaves, fed the day with its auditory delights. You made the day. Need music for your event? We did! We searched local listings in the phone book and asked around for music for our wedding. The few that we found were out of our budget and the word of mouth groups weren’t anything worth writing about. We turned to old reliable, “THE INTERNET”. Sure enough we found a great selection for a variety of genre tastes at on online booking site for local artists Gigmasters.com. Sign up is free for the planning party and you browse through artists to your specified taste and budget and the artists bid for your event. For us we wanted a harpist for our beach ceremony and a jazz band for our reception. After a few days of getting bids and interviewing artists we decided on our perfect musicians. Ted Nichelson, a harpist who knows his stuff! He’s attained a Doctorate, Masters, and Bachelors in his field. Seeming well qualified he was hired. For the reception we decided on a newcomer to Gigmasters. The Richman Jazz Ensemble had very little for us to go off of, just one picture but great prices. We asked him to send us a sample of some sort and they did. The demo CD was great and we hired them. For our first time booking live entertainment we couldn’t have picked better. The harpist was wonderful we didn’t get to enjoy him as much as I wanted to during the service because apparently when you get married you tune a lot of things out when you’re that nervous giving away your life to the person you love. However, the music was just as beautiful on our wedding video of the ceremony. The Jazz band was great too! Everyone raved about the music for hire and it was a great opportunity to expose the artists for future gigs. For us, being on a budget we found picking a newbie to the professional industry of playing events proved useful. It was a win win for both. We got an awesome deal for our $, plus we gave the artists an exposure for prospective clientele. Finding Gigmasters not only helped us save money, but gave us a great outlet of personal preferences for our Wedding entertainment. - Professional Live Entertainment, 2/20/07
